Our Current Faves: Coffee Shops

There are fewer things better than a good coffee. We are sharing some of our current favorite coffee shops in Wilmington. Whether you're looking for a unique crafted beverage or a go-to staple, you're bound to find something you love at these local spots.

  1. Hidden Grounds - One of the newest coffee shops in Wilmington - stays true to its name. A small indoor coffee spot within a brick building, opens up to a sprawling garden out back. The tropical plants and perfectly placed seating makes it one of our new favorite spots to meet friends for a specialty coffee. With drinks like the cold fashion with a triple shot, bitters and cherry or the Dino Campfire topped with a toasty marshmallow - if you're looking for an insta-worthy coffee and a cool spot to catch some sunshine, definitely put this spot on your list.

  2. Bespoke Coffee + Dry Goods - One of our go-to spots for years. They brew coffee from one of our favorite suppliers - Counter Culture Coffee, out of Durham, NC. Offering chill vibes and straightforward brews, it's an ideal stop at any time of day, but we especially love it in the morning when we're caff'ing up before exploring downtown. One thing that stands out about Bespoke Coffee is their merch. The space showcases bags, t-shirts, flags, coffee mugs and glasses in Bespoke's signature design style., Grab a little something to take home or send to a coffee-loving friend.

  3. Casablanca Coffee Roasters - If you live in Wilmington and you haven't been to Casablanca, do you even drink coffee? An impeccable space with an equally as delightful cup of coffee. I opt for the cold brew (surprise) and it's one of my favorite in the city. It's floral and bright. The food at Casablanca almost rivals the coffee. The menu offers breakfast and lunch cafe dishes like overnight oats, breakfast burrito, or turkey sandwich. But you can never go wrong with the loaded avocado toast. Expertly curated and lots of space inside and outside makes Casablanca a go-to spot for any coffee drinker.

  4. Social Supply Coffee - Social has two locations in Wilmington. The Oriole location is our favorite. Social Supply is known for it's delicious seasonal menu and it's popular merch. It's another one of our go-to spots for cold brew. The Oriole locations has lots of room inside to spread out - which makes it ideal for students and folks to who want bring their laptop or a book and park for awhile with a good cup of coffee. Social Supply offers events like Harry Potter or Gilmore Girls Trivia nights where you can order off a themed menu and bring your friends for a fun evening at the shop. They also host pop up markets and a moms group.

  5. Drift Coffee and Kitchen - Drift is slowly but surely staking its claim on Wilmington. With five locations (in Wilmington) and counting, and a delectable food menu it's so much more than just a coffee shop. The Wrightsville Beach and Hanover Center locations feature a sit-down atmosphere with table service ideal for a sit and stay awhile meal. The aesthetic cafes are always a good bet for a good cup of specialty coffee and a bite to eat. We love to visit drift for lunch or brunch - especially the Hanover Center location. You can find us ordering the protein brekkie bowl or the breakfast sandwich with a side of bacon (some of the best bacon in Wilmy IMO).
